About
I enjoy the ideals of simple, clear, and clean. There is both beauty and stress-relieving qualities in concepts and images that are reduced to the essentials.
Yet, everyday we are faced with a range of challenges. It is important to face these challenges directly and realistically. Oversimplification can cause us to miss important details. By carefully observing, we discover a complex beauty in everything around us.
I oscillate between simplified and realistic pieces. I display these in simple frames that at the same time display the complex beauty of wood, both newer wood and reclaimed wood. Reclaimed wood can contrast the complexity of an aged and weathered surface with the clean, freshly revealed edge.
